In 2010, SMG dealerships high quality of service was recognised by our respective manufacturers,
and the following awards were received:
SMG Pietermaritzburg was awarded the highly prestigious BMW Metro Dealer of the Year trophy, for
the second time in 4 years! In 2006, they won BMW Rural Dealer of the Year. SMG's
Approved Repair Centre, situated in Briardene, acheived the accolade of Most Improved Repair
Centre, and were also recognised for their committment to customer satisfaction. Our
beautiful, state of the art SMG Cape Town, opened in Century City in 2009, has risen to become one
of the highest volume sellers in the Western Cape in its first year of operation, and was the
recipient of the BMW Aftersales Dealer of the Year.

New BMW 3 Series coming soon...

With the announcement of the sixth generation BMW 3 Series Sedan, the benchmark by which all
sport sedans are measured just got raised.
It will not only set new standards for performance and handling but also for luxury,
technology and efficiency as well. The car is slightly bigger all round translating into class
leading space for the premium cabin and boot. The worlds most advanced safety features are fitted
as standard on all models.
And the BMW 3 Series range is now also available in a trio of trim and equipment variants –
the Sport Line, Luxury Line and Modern Line. Each presents its own individual take on the character
of the sports sedan, with exclusive, high-quality material combinations and unbeatable build
quality underlining the premium ambience of the new range. The M-Sport package will also be on
offer combining aggressive, sporty looks with increased driving dynamics.
Performance figures have been raised on all models compared to the previous 3. The use of the
8 speed automatic or 6 speed manual gearboxes ensure smooth gear changes combined with stop-start
engine function and the host of other efficient dynamics technologies means market leading
consumption figures across the range cementing the new BMW 3 series’ spot as class leader in the
premium mid-sized sedan market.
The car will be produced in both Germany and our own plant at Rosslyn in Gauteng. Expect the
new 3 series to arrive on showroom floors at the end of February.

Test drive the new BMW 1 Series at your local SMG dealer between now and 31 December 2011 and
you could win one of two BMW 1 Series, Urban or Sport, that are up for grabs! All you
have to do after your test drive is to complete an information card with your sales executive at
the dealership, and insert it into the competition box at Reception. Your sales executive
will have to capture some information about you on our database, and the grand draw will take
place at BMW SA in Midrand in January 2012. The new BMW 1 Series: agile with a dynamic
design. Sporty and muscular on the outside; spacious and luxurious on the inside.
